Mercedes Star Diagnostic

Here at MD Motorcare we have invested in a genuine Star diagnostic machine. For a thorough in depth fault report detailing any current faults or stored faults that may be within an ECU (Electronic control unit) memory. We will provide you with a full control unit log printout and highlight the fault codes that we have been asked to diagnose. From this, around 80-90% of the time we can determine what is the fault with your car and we will not need to do any further diagnostics.

Mercedes SCN coding and software updates.

Approximately 80-90% of the time after a control unit is replaced it requires coding into the vehicle via SCN coding. Even some of the time when a fault shows on your car it can be fixed with a simple software update. With our genuine Mercedes Star diagnostics machine we can do everything the main dealer can.

Advanced Mercedes diagnostics.

If by doing a diagnostic does not take us 100% to the route cause of the problem then we will always call and ask if we can go more in depth. We have access to the Mercedes workshop manual called Wis, that is integrated into the star machine giving us guided test steps, wiring diagrams, component locations, work instructions and much more. We charge our hourly rate once the initial diagnostic is done.
